The following is a list of the data WCEPS currently collects from Users. The “Information Collected From All Users” is collected automatically when a User visits the DP Applications, and the Optional Information is collected if the User submits it to WCEPS.
Information Collected for All Users:
WCEPS does not utilize tracking technology on the DP Applications and does not track Users who visit the DP Applications unless they specifically log into the DP Applications using their unique credentials as detailed below. Once logged in to the DP Applications, WCEPS collects information about the User’s use of the DP Applications, including page visits and the like as described in the “Use of Non-Personal Data Section.”
The above information, as well as other data collected by the DP Applications from all Users, is considered “Non-Personal Data” of a User.
Optional Information Collected if Provided by User:
WCEPS collects the following information from Users who choose to provide it through the DP Applications.
- First Name
- Last Name
- E-Mail Address
- Institutional Affiliation
- Course related information; for example, information that you enter during your use of the DP Applications such as questions, comments, etc.
The above information is considered “Personal Data” of a User and will only be provided to WCEPS when submitted by the User during the sign-up process or as part of the contact information for an event. Users should know that any Personal Information provide within the DP Applications will be accessible to all others in that same instance or training. Users should be very mindful about what personal information they provide.
Use of personal data collected
Disclosure of personal data
The public and Users of the DP Applications may see Personal Data provided by other Users as attendees to any trainings using the DP Applications as any Personal Data.
WCEPS may also disclose Personal Data that is not public to third parties under certain circumstances. WCEPS may disclose Personal Data to third parties if: 1) a User has optionally provided any Personal Data to WCEPS so that it may store said Personal Data in its mailing list database; 2) a User requested that WCEPS do so; 3) to comply with an applicable law, regulation, valid subpoena, or request of the US Government or; 4) WCEPS is acquired by or merged into another entity, or all or a portion of either its assets or the DP Applications assets are sold or otherwise transferred to another entity, WCEPS may disclose Personal Data to that entity.
Access to and control over information
For help with further questions or access to Personal Data a User can contact: email@example.com.
Additionally, via e-mail Users can specifically request information about:
Use of non-personal data
Non-Personal Data may also be automatically collected about a User utilizing the DP Applications. For example, WCEPS uses technology, such as Google Analytics, to automatically collect Non-Personal Data about the use of the DP Applications. This technology is used to track how many Users access DP Applications, the date and time of their visits, the length of their stays, and which pages they view. WCEPS may also use technology to determine which web browsers Users use and the address from which they accessed the DP Applications. The information collected using this technology does not identify any User personally and is thus all Non-Personal Data that simply enables WCEPS to compile statistics about Users and their use of the DP Applications and related services. WCEPS uses this Non-Personal Data and may share it with third parties to improve the content and functionality of the DP Applications, to better understand our customers and markets, and to improve our products and services.
WCEPS may store certain information from a User’s web browser using “cookies.” A cookie is a piece of data stored on the User’s computer tied to information about the User and their use of the DP Applications. WCEPS may use session-ID cookies to confirm that registered Users are logged in. These cookies would terminate once the User closes the web browser. WCEPS may also use persistent cookies that store certain Personal Data already provided to WCEPS to make it easier for a User to log back into the DP Applications. Cookies are used as a convenience feature for the User and to allow WCEPS to better understand how Users are accessing and using the DP Applications. A User can remove or block cookies using the settings in the User’s web browser if a user wants to disable such functions, but such action may impair the full functionality of the DP Applications.
Hacking and security
WCEPS uses industry standard security measures to protect Users’ Personal Data. While such security measures provide reasonable protections against unauthorized access, they provide no guarantee that Personal Data will not be compromised. HACKING AND UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS OCCURS AND WCEPS PROVIDES NO GUARANTEE THAT PERSONAL DATA WILL NOT BE STOLEN OR MISUSED BY THIRD-PARTIES.
Whenever a website collects sensitive information (such as confidential business information), a User should confirm that the information is encrypted and transmitted in a secure way. One way that a User may do so is by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of the web browser or looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.
